Map of places to eat in scarborough

With travel restrictions in place during the first half of the year, we spent a lot of time trying take out from different restaurants in Scarborough, ON. And with the Toronto Food Crawl blog post performing well, I thought I’d share some of our favourite local restaurants here, most (if not all) with 4+ star reviews on Google/Yelp!

Be sure to bookmark this page and visit again – we’ll be adding to this list regularly =)

Here are some of our favourite places to eat in Scarborough:

  • Pizza on Fire – at first I was skeptical but their butter chicken pizza sauce was so flavourful and they’re generous with their toppings.
  • Ensanemada – our most recent find, this place offers soft Filipino brioche buns with a flavoured layer of icing (ube is our go-to).
  • Chola Indian Cuisine – huge portions of a thick and creamy butter chicken sauce with fresh fluffy garlic naan.
  • Grande Burrito – fresh ingredients, unlimited toppings – including guac.
  • Mama’s Greek Cuisine – Greek food is my favourite! Their chicken and pork souvlaki are always so juicy and never too dry.
  • Onnuri – our go-to place for a huge portion of JaJangMyun – Korean noodles with black bean sauce.
  • Lung Tung BBQ – Chinese barbeque that just tastes a little better and a little different than others with their char sui.
  • Cakeview Bakery – my family and I have been going to Cakeview for many years. Their egg tarts are always delicious straight out of the oven and their mango cakes (when in season) is also recommended.
  • Snow Time – we’ve been going to Snow Time for Korean bingsu, good alternative to Cups in the area.
  • Oishii Sweets – if this place was opened when I still lived in the area, I’d insist on going for an evening walk each night. They have cute and chewy mochi donuts/muffins and $3 soft serve.
  • Döner King – you can’t go wrong with a fully loaded plate of shawarma with lots of garlic sauce here.
  • Fire Dutch’s Jamaican Takeout – big portions of juicy jerk chicken and flavourful oxtail stew, we loved this place.

When it comes to describing food, there’s a lot of, ‘that’s what she said’ moments above – I know =P

We eat at at least 1 of these restaurants every week, so I hope you enjoy trying these local eats in Scarborough too. Let me know if there are other restaurants we should try!
