Quotes
Be who you needed when you were younger.
I think this quote summarizes what I’ve aimed for in 2019. In 2018 I turned 30 and when I finally got myself out of a slump, I asked myself what kind of person I wanted to be in 10 years. They say you have to be your own hero and work towards that. That’s so true. Why follow in someone else’s footsteps when you should be creating your own? It’s more logical, motivating and attainable. And to a similar sentiment, I love this quote as well: “Ten years from now you want to be able to say you chose this life, not settled for it.”
If you’re offered a seat on a rocket ship, don’t ask what seat. Just get on.
Sheryl Sandburg
This is a Sheryl Sandburg quote from her commencement speech at Harvard that I re-watch every year during graduation season. This is a quote I think about often in my career – if you’re offered a great opportunity, don’t doubt it, take it. My career has been an area where I haven’t been afraid of taking chances, and in hindsight, I wish I took more of them and worked abroad when I had the opportunity. I am Beyonce, always.
Michael Scott

If you don’t think this quote is inspiring, you’re wrong (lol). While I don’t love the context in which this quote was taken out of, you should always be the Beyonce of your own world. Be confident with yourself and your decisions both in your personal life and professional life. And I think Michael Scott would appreciate this quote too, “In a world full of cheerios, be a fruitloop.” Michael Scott is definitely a fruitloop.
Here are some other quotes that I love.

Yes! 2 blog posts in 1 month…mainly because I missed June. I haven’t been traveling lately since we’ve been moving and doing renos. We did, however take 2 trips to Detroit and Buffalo last month to do some shopping and reignite my love for Olive Garden. Time to brainstorm my August post…
