The Roadtrip Girl on turning…3-0

It’s a new decade! Some people go sky diving, bungee jumping or go on a safari tour, I’m going to take it easy this weekend with some friends and a whole lot of food. I can’t seem to recall how I celebrated my 20th but do remember how I celebrated my 19th; with these crazy folks lol

I’m sure when I turned 20, I wondered what my next decade would be like, just as I sit here wondering what my next 10 years entail. I want to say that the last decade has been a whirlwind, but really, it hasn’t been. I’ve been lucky enough to say that my life has always been smooth sailing and I am so grateful.

In the last 10 years, I have:

✅ Graduated university
✅ Started http://www.theroadtripgirl.com
✅ Traveled the world, near and far
✅ Gone somewhere I’ve never been at least once a year for the past 10 years
✅ Grew my social media following
✅ Started and advanced my career
✅ Purchased my first home
✅ Found a job I love
✅ Got married

Looking back, these were all the things I wanted to check of my list. They’re the things and experiences that have made me the happiest and as I look forward to the next chapter, I wanted to outline some other check boxes I’d like to check off.

Here are some minor and major goals I’m looking to accomplish:

❏ Try harder and be more passionate in everything I do
❏ Continue to advance my career
❏ Continue to travel to a place I’ve never been each year
❏ Continue to grow my social media following
❏ Commit to: at least 1 blog post/month, interact with 1 travel chat on Twitter/week, 2 Instagram post/week and 1 Facebook post/week
❏ Embark on a new business venture
❏ Purchase a lakefront cottage
❏ Start a family

I want to be a person my 40 year old self would be proud of and I want to leave you with this quote, that I thought was really cheesy at first, “Be fearless in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire”. Never settle for less than what you want and keep pursuing what’s best for you.
